Introducing Zander and Charlotte, two Indian Runner ducks that needed a home.....
One thing that really sickens me is road kill. I hate to see beautiful creatures littering the country's roads without anyone giving them any dignity or respect. Occasionally, some survive and I always have mixed emotions as I pull over and see something flapping by the roadside.
I'm a complete novice when it comes to wildlife rescue (usually calling on our good friends Blyth Wildlife Rescue for advice) but if they can at least be kept warm for a few days or taken to a vet to die without suffering then it has to be better than being torn apart by a fox or something in my eyes.....
The young pheasant in the two photographs below survived with a bit TLC and it was a very proud moment when we could release her back into the wild. The bird in the last photo wasn't as lucky, and despite her fighting hard to survive, we lost her.
